CLAY CENTER — It took a quarter for the Smoky Valley High School boys basketball team to get going, but when they did, it was all downhill from there.

The Vikings trailed by one after the first quarter, but outscored Clay Center 42-21 the rest of the way en route to a 53-33 win Friday night.The Vikings were led by Nick Reinert’s 15 points. Reinert missed Tuesday’s game due to illness. Ben Weldy scored 12 and Jacob Adams had 10.

The Vikings are back home on Tuesday when they host Hoisington.
