MOUNDRIDGE — Anthony Otte had 17 points, Noah Eichelberger scored 14, and the Moundridge High School boys basketball team knocked off Goessel, 48-34, Friday night in Moundridge.

The Wildcats blew the game open in the second quarter, using a 13-4 run to create some separation between the two teams at halftime. Moundridge assisted on 12 of their 16 made baskets — half of their team assists coming from Eichelberger.

“I thought our energy level was really good in the first half, but we had some trouble finishing around the basket,” head coach Vance Unrau said. “We also had some trouble securing possession of loose balls after deflections on rebounds. Credit to Goessel for hanging tough. We are going to have to finish plays and not be distracted around the basket or let contact contribute to missed opportunities.”

Moundridge is at Marion on Tuesday.
