Starting Jan. 13, the McPherson Public Library will hold its annual Great Magazine Giveaway.
The library keeps issues of its approximately 150 magazine subscriptions for a couple of years. The back issues from 2015 have been pulled, and the public is invited to browse and take what they want free of charge.
Included in this year’s giveaway are the 2015 issues of children, teen, parenting, and adult collection magazines.
The event starts at 9 a.m. and lasts throughout the weekend. The magazines will be located in the library meeting room.
“Each year we withdraw older magazines from our shelves to make room for newer issues. Giving away the magazines allows us a way to get them into hands of people who are interested in re-reading or re-purposing them. It’s a win for all of us.” stated Jennie Hall, Head of Adult Services.
Started in 1993, this year marks the 25th consecutive year of the annual magazine give-away. As always, patrons are encouraged to come early for the best selection.
For additional information call the library at 620-245-2570 or email them at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The library is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
