Winona Jane (Eslinger) Jungman, 58, of Houston, Texas, passed away on Jan. 2, 2018.

The burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13 at Canton Township Cemetery, Canton. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at Grace Bible Church, at 1215 N. Grimes St. in McPherson. Pastor Rich Duerksen will officiate.

Cremation arrangements were handled by Darst Funeral Home in Kingwood, Texas. Funeral services were also held on Jan. 7 at Living Word Church of the Nazarene in Houston, Texas.

Winona was born in Lincoln, Kansas to Everett and Oneida Hobbs Eslinger on April 1, 1959. The family moved to Canton when she was 4-years-old. She graduated from Markoma Christian School in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Grace College of the Bible, Omaha, Nebraska — where she met Chris — Omaha College of Health Careers and Texas School of Business, Houston, Texas, where she received a medical assistant diploma with a perfect 4.0 GPA in 1994.

Winona was married to Chris Jungman on June 23, 1983. They were married for 34 years.

Winona worked as a medical assistant for various doctor offices, most recently Kelsey Seybold, since she had graduated from Omaha College of Health Careers.

Winona enjoyed handcrafts and fishing every chance she got. She was also actively involved in Concrete Christians, and outreach to the homeless, and various ministries at her home church in Houston, Living Word Church of the Nazarene.

Winona is survived by her husband Chris Jungman of Houston, Texas; father and step-mother Everett and Josie Eslinger of McPherson; step-sisters Glenna Coleman of Independence, Missouri and Susan (John) Gordon of Nebraska City, Nebraska; mother-in-law Jewell Jungman of Truro, Iowa; brother-in-law Tim Jungman of Truro, Iowa; a niece, nephew, cousins and friends.

Winona was preceded in death by her mother, Oneida Hobbs Eslinger; father-in-law Jerry Jungman; grandparents, aunts and uncles.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Grace Bible Church, 1215 N. Grimes St., McPherson KS 67460.
