Martha Jane McKay, 79, of McPherson, passed away peacefully on Jan. 30, 2018, at McPherson Health & Rehab. She was retired from McPherson Hospital where she worked in housekeeping.

Martha was born on Dec. 11, 1938, in McPherson, the daughter of Glenn Marvin and Myra Alivida (Sewell) Platner.

She was a member of McPherson Church of Christ.

Survivors include five children, Deena Kay Williams (Glen) of McPherson, Peggy Hoag (Roy) of Topeka, Tammy Johnson (Mike) of Rogers, Arkansas, Judy Smith (Darin) of McPherson, and Jeff Bruce of Kansas City, Kansas; nephews, James Winslow of McPherson, Rick Winslow (Deanna) of Marquette, and Bruce Winslow (Janell) of Moundridge; niece, LaDonnia Trevino (Lee) of Lyons; 17 grandchildren; and 50 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; brothers, Marvin Platner and Steven Platner; nephew, Lantz Platner; and grandson, Dustin Smith.

Martha was known for her beautiful smile and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, at McPherson Church of Christ with Minister Gary Witcher officiating. A reception will follow the service in the church fellowship hall.

A private burial will be held at McPherson Cemetery.
