LINDSBORG — Although there is no official dress code, the theme of this year's Daddy Daughter Ball in Lindsborg is "Ties and Tiaras."

Fathers and father figures can bring their daughters, ages newborn to 14-years-old, to the ball, which is being held on March 3.

Attendees can nibble on snacks and add flashy and fun props to their outfits while having their photo taken at the event.

"There will be a photo booth and a DJ," explained Lindsborg Recreation Department Director Beth Ferguson.

Lindsborg resident Ben Gardner said he and his daughter have attended the event for the past two years.

"She loves it — the silliness of the dancing and music, the silliness of the other kids," Gardner said.

The event gives Gardner and his daughter the chance to spend time one-on-one.

"For me, it's a moment to focus on her, just her, for the evening," Gardner said. "Going out to eat together, sitting together, laughing."

Gardner said he looks forward to the Daddy Daughter Ball each year and plans on attending it as long as his daughter enjoys it as well.

"Life moves too fast. It has hard, difficult movements in it. But, if we focus on what we can control, like spending quality time with our loved ones, we will build great memories," Gardner said. "That's what I try to do with her at this event."

The deadline for registration for the Sixth Annual Daddy Daughter Ball is Feb. 23.

"There is no registration at the door. They must turn in the registration beforehand," Ferguson emphasized.

The Sixth Annual Daddy Daughter Ball will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. March 3 in the first floor ballroom of the J.O. Sundstrom Building, located at 102 N. Main St. in Lindsborg. Doors will open at 6:15 p.m. Tickets are $30 for a father and daughter and $5 for each additional daughter.
