Phyllis Annette Hawkes, 82, of McPherson and formerly of Wichita, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2018, at McPherson Health & Rehab. She was a homemaker.
She was born on Sept. 12, 1935, in Grand Island, Nebraska, the daughter of James L. and Mary I. (Ball) Howdy.
Phyllis was united in marriage to Richard Leroy Hawkes on Feb. 10, 1954, in Grand Island, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on April 30, 2012.
Survivors include: two sons, Clifford Hawkes and wife, Edna, of McPherson, and Rex Hawkes of Wichita; a sister, Cheryl Trisdale and husband, Jim, of Augusta; and two grandsons, Brandon Hawkes and wife, Cassie, of Portland, Oregon and Joshua Hawkes of Nashville, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters, Cindy Hawkes and Janet Hawkes, and two sisters, Marilyn and Pam.
A private family service will be held.
