There is a new coffee shop in McPherson, and owner Crystalen Breeden is passionate about serving customers, no matter how busy their schedule may be.
McPherson FETCH Coffee opened last week at 1023 S. Main St. The building, previously occupied by Stull Gallery & Auction, features tables and chairs for those looking to sit and chat or a deep counter with barstools and electrical outlets and wifi access for those needing to do some studying. Shelves underneath the counter allow plenty of space to stow purses and backpacks.
“I’m still doing some improvements,” Breeden said.
But coffee — and customers — come first for Breeden, who offers a drink delivery service between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday through Friday.
“They could call or they could email me,” Breeden noted.
Delivery is limited to the McPherson area in order to ensure hot drinks arrive hot and cold drinks stay cold.
“Quality is important to me; I definitely make it how they want it,” Breeden said.
McPherson FETCH Coffee’s menu includes hot and iced coffee drinks along with blended frappes. Fat-free or soy milk are available. Breeden said one of the top sellers is her salted caramel mocha, which she makes either hot or blended.
“The most popular drink has been the cotton candy frappe,” Breeden said.
For those who do not care for coffee, McPherson FETCH Coffee offers Red Bull-infused cold drinks.
“I also have Monster and Rockstar, for those who prefer that,” Breeden said.
Canned sodas, bottled water and prepackaged pastries — honey buns and a variety of muffins — are also available. Breeden is looking at adding bubble tea, biscotti and other food options her customers request.
“I’m excited to meet new people,” Breeden said. “I want people to stop by and try it out and have a good conversation. I’m always a good listener.”
Originally from Alaska, Breeden recently ran a coffee shop in Salina’s Central Mall.
“I’m just excited to grow with McPherson,” Breeden said. “I love it here.”
When not making coffee, Breeden says she spends time with her family, which includes four daughters and a dog.
“I love McPherson,” Breeden said. “It’s a great place for kids.”
