HESSTON — Clifford Ernest King, 93, of Hesston, went to be with his Lord on May 25, 2018, at Pine Village, Moundridge.

He was born on Feb. 18, 1925 in Newton to Ezra W. and Mary Longenecker King.He gave his heart to Lord at the age of 10 and was baptized at East Emmet Church, northwest of Newton. He belonged to Newton First Church of the Nazarene.

He was a graduate of Newton High School and attended Kansas University and Asbury College, Wilmore, Kentucky.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952. He was a concrete construction contractor.

In 1953, he married Alberta Eby and together they had five sons.

On June 28, 1980, he married Marilyn Ostlund. She survives.

Other survivors include: sons Craig (Marilyn), Springdale, Arkansas.; Douglas (Rae), Hesston; Byron (Cindy), Medical Lake, Washington; Philip (Joanne), West Chicago; and Michael (Peggy) of Hesston; Marilyn’s children: Jeffrey (Michelle) Ostlund, Mt. Hope; Melinda (Mike) Nachtigall, Hesston; James (Jodi) Ostlund, McPherson; 22 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by sister Mary Kathryn (Charles) Turkington, Wilmore, Kentucky.; sister-in-law Ann King, Albany, Georgia; and many nieces, nephews and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter Stacy King’; and his sisters and their husbands Ruth (Elton) Jones; Ethel (Bailey) Wade; Helen (Arthur) Smith; and his brothers and their wives; Leroy (Lois) King; Raymond (Yvonne) King; and James King.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday with family present from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Newton First Church of the Nazarene.

A committal service will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Eastlawn Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at 4 p.m. at First Church of the Nazarene with The Rev. J. Jay Hawes presiding.
