Lorena Ardis Presley, 94, of McPherson, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, at The Cedars, McPherson. She worked as a church secretary and also as an office manager for the athletic dept at Ottawa University.
Lorena was born on June 16, 1924, in Lowell, MI, the daughter of Burton A. and Lydia Mabel (Leitch) Perry. She graduated from Moody Bible Institute in 1946. Lorena was united in marriage to Horton E. Presley on April 13, 1946, in Rockford, MI. He preceded her in death on June 22, 2001.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, McPherson. She was also active in the Parkinson’s Disease Support Group in Georgia. She enjoyed square dancing and was an incredible hostess and always welcomed people into her home.
Survivors include: sons, John Presley (Margaret) of Lindsborg, KS and Kenneth Presley (Linda) of Eau Claire, WI; four grandchildren, Jason Presley (Emily) of Kansas City, Aaron Presley (Leah) of Hong Kong, Cara Presley of Newton, MA, and Megan Wheeler (John) of Marion, KS; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and one sister.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Timothy Conner officiating. A private inurnment will be held at the McPherson Cemetery mausoleum.
