Taytum Lovesee, a 13-year-old girl, was taken to Salina Regional Health Center for a serious injury following a vehicle crash on I-135 in McPherson County about 7:50 a.m. Saturday, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol crash report.
Mark Womacks, 54, of Atlanta, Kansas, drove a 2016 Chevy Suburban north on I-135 as a 2008 Dodge Pickup was southbound on I-135.
The Chevy left the road, through the median, into the southbound lane, the report stated. The Chevy struck the Dodge and left the road again. The Chevy continued west, went up a hill through a Kansas Department of Transportation fence, traveled down the hill, hit a large bump, and vaulted into the air before coming to rest right-side-up facing west.
Four occupants of the Chevy were injured in the crash. Womacks, Michael Harrison, 15, and Christopher Riley, 14, received minor injuries and were taken to Salina Regional, the report stated.
Austin Lee Davis, 33, of Benkelman, Nebraska, drove the Dodge Pickup and was not injured in the crash. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
