Six members attended the meeting of Happy Homemakers FCE Monday, Feb. 25, at the Extension Meeting Room with Jean Rowland serving as both hostess and co-hostess.
Karen Spoon reported on events from the County Council meeting, held that same morning, sharing that the Spring Tea will be held at 7 p.m. April 30 and members are encouraged to bring guests.
An Arts and Crafts exhibit will be held prior to the tea, with those bringing crafts shortly before 6:30 p.m., when viewing begins, with entries not being judged and those that have been displayed previously welcome with no limit on the number of items displayed.
Speakers for the tea will be Jim and Shirley Goering, who have traveled to and photographed many places in the world.
President, Clarice Graves, shared an article from the KAFCE News, listing some lesser- known FCE-related organizations for choosing to make donations.
Karen Spoon presented the lesson, “Words Count”, telling of the centuries-old use of parliamentary procedures as rules for meetings, leading to the writing of “Robert’s Rules of Order”.
The group participated in a skit, enacting a meeting where the members were not ready with their reports and the discussion strayed off track repeatedly.
Refreshments were served by the hostess.
The next meeting will be held at the home of Linda Ediger March 25.
