WICHITA - Yunietta Meloyce Taylor, 95, died March 22, 2019 at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis, Wichita. 

She was born July 7, 1923 in McPherson, the daughter of Daniel Lewis and Beulah J. Waln Russell. 

She was a graduate of Canton High School and had attended one year of teacher’s college. She had taught one year in a one-room school house and later was a book keeper and receptionist for a doctor.

Yunietta was a member of the Canton United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post No. 192, and loved her constant companion dog Tippy.

She married LaMar A. Geis on March 3, 1946 in Galva. He died September 1985. She married Harold Taylor on June 16, 1989 in Peabody. He died November 2005.

Survivors include a daughter, Aleta (Kenneth) Ashlock, Canton; stepchildren, Virginia deLaval, California, Warren Taylor, San Angelo, Texas, and Jane (Gene) O’Neil, Lenexa; a brother, Rex Russell, Mentor; sisters, LeVonne Minear, McPherson and Carolee Chartier, McPherson; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at the Canton United Methodist Church, with Pastor Mike Miller presiding. Burial will follow at the Peabody Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2019 at Olson’s Mortuary.
