A closing reception for the latest gallery exhibition at McPherson College in Friendship Hall is set for Thursday, April 4 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. with an artist talk at 6 p.m. The exhibition features the artwork of James Mages of Hays. Mages work spans several media and transports its audience to sun-swept beaches and warmer climates.

Formerly an art teacher, Mages is now retired and makes art full-time. His work includes drawing, graphic design, and sculpture in wood and bronze. Mages subject matter is nature, in particular creatures of the sea. His color palette is bright and cheerful.

The exhibition is on display now and can be seen during regular business hours, Monday through Friday.
