The McPherson City Commission met for its regular meeting Monday evening and here is what you need to know:
Commissioners approved payment on the bill from the McPherson County Clerk for the Sunday liquor sales special election. The bill totaled $6,400.06 which was less than originally anticipated.
Timothy Hoesli has been approved to take over the role as animal control officer for McPherson, pending pre-employment testing. If all goes well he will start May 6.
The eastbound lane of Northview will be closed for approximately two days starting today for street patching. The closure will be from Sonora Drive to Grimes Street, though traffic will not be detoured.
“Motorists should use caution in that area and seek alternative routes,” Public Works Director Jeff Woodward said.
The final report of Barnstormers Project which began in December of 2017 is done. All the re-work has been accomplished, and the project has been accepted.
The commission approved the C.A.R.S. Club Cruise-In on Main Street Event on from 6 to 10 p.m. on May 3 on Main and Marlin Streets. Organized by the McPherson College C.A.R.S. Club, this is their annual cruise-in event which includes closing Main Street from Kansas Avenue to Euclid Street and Marlin Street from Ash Street to Maple Street. This event was well attended last year.
