One man is in the hospital and another in jail, following an altercation in McPherson.
Shortly before 2 p.m., on Wednesday, officers were dispatched to the 900 block of West Kansas Avenue for a report of a man walking around covered in blood. They made contact with a 33 year old male. He was suffering from a head wound stated that he had been shot in the head.
It was determined the incident occurred in the 700 block of West Kansas Avenue. When officers and detectives arrived on scene they made contact with numerous witnesses and the suspect. Detectives were able to determine the victim did not suffer from a gunshot wound, but instead, the injuries were a result of blunt force trauma. The victim was transported to McPherson Hospital and then transferred to a Wichita area hospital for further treatment.
Justin Huhn, was arrested for aggravated battery. Officers seized drugs and a firearm during a follow-up investigation during which a search was conducted. During the search, officers found and seized methamphetamine, paraphernalia and a handgun. Additional were brought against Huhn to include, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and criminal possession and use of a weapon.
