ANDOVER — The McPherson 16U baseball team suffered a pair of losses Friday in Andover.

The Bullpups were knocked off by Andover Central and the Salina Eagles en route to an 0-2 day at the Andover Tournament.

McPherson played Andover Central tightly outside of the fourth inning when the Jaguars scored four runs to turn a 3-2 game into a 7-2 game. McPherson mustered just one run the rest of the way.

Gavin Richardson had two of McPherson’s three RBIs, while Tucker Pelnar led all pitchers with four strikeouts.

The Bullpups were dominated in game two, as five Salina runs in both the third and fourth innings gave the Eagles a 13-6 win. Salina out-hit McPherson 19-7 in a game that was never close after the Bullpups took a 1-0 lead into the top of the third.

Dawson Feil struck out four batters in three innings of work for McPherson.

The Bullpups, now 15-3 on the summer, are back in action at Andover on Saturday.
