The McPherson 18U baseball team picked up its ninth and 10th wins of the season on Monday when the Bullpups hosted and swept Sedgwick in a double header.

In game one, the Bullpups won 11-1 thanks to 15 hits at the plate and five solid innings on the mound from Jared McCartney. McPherson scored in all five innings, including back-to-back three-run innings in the third and fourth.

Brandon Malm led all hitters with three RBIs while McCartney struck out six.

Sedgwick made McPherson work for it in game two, as the Bullpups fell behind 4-0 entering the bottom of the third. But the third is where the Bullpups exploded for five runs.

McPherson followed up the inning with two runs in both the fourth and the fifth to ease to a 9-5 win.

Treyton Pelnar and Collin Pearson combined to pitch five innings on the mound with Pelnar striking out two.

Jakob Feil led the team with two hits while Jaytin Gumm had two RBIs in game two.

McPherson 18U is back in action on Friday when the Bullpups play Great Bend in Salina.
