5 things you should do this week
Nothing says summer like a water fight, and at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 16 there will be a Community Water Fight on the North 400 block of Main Street in Lindsborg. Grab your favorite water weapon and get wet. Fuel up on watermelon and hot dogs before you fill up your water weapon at fill tanks provided by the Lindsborg Fire Department. The entire community is invited to Swensson Park.
2. Head to the Legion
The McPherson American Legion will host a family night at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 15 at the post, 401 N. Main. Proceeds from Family Night will benefit the Hospital Volunteers. Grab a hamburger, fries, drink, and dessert for the low price of $5.
3. Dine and dance
Aug. 17 is a Frisbee Feed and Annual Lindsborg Street Dance. The Frisbee Feed starts at 6 p.m. in the 100 Block of South Main in Lindsborg. The evening meal menu includes barbecue pulled pork sandwiches, beans, and chips for $7 per plate.
The meal is a Smoky Valley After Prom fundraiser. Stick around for the Annual Street Dance starting at 6:30 p.m. with Numa Sonica and Mahan the Band. At 8:30 p.m. The Blades will take center stage.
YP MAC’s August Mingle will be from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the McPherson Opera House, 219 S. Main. It is a time to network and socialize with other young professionals from McPherson County in a relaxed and friendly environment at this come and go event.
5. Dance the night away
Concerts for a Cause will host a “Back to School Bash Street Dance” from 7 to 10 p.m. Aug. 17 featuring Kyle Killgore Band.
Sno cones, sidewalk art, face painting, food trucks, dunk tank, balloon guy, exotic pets, bounce house and a wishing tree will all be part of the night at 214 E. Euclid. The evening is fundraiser is for MDA sponsored by McPherson Fire Department. Free and open to the public.
