INMAN — The Inman High School volleyball team is continuing to climb its way to the ladder in the Heart of America League, and expects to have a big year this season with a veteran group.

Emily Butler is going into her third season as head coach with the Lady Teutons. She is eager to have a group of girls that are experienced and could make an impact in the rotation.

"I am so excited to see what this group of strong women will do," Butler said. "I have a lot of options this year so practice and effort will be key to who is out on that court. We have a group of seniors will do."

The Teutons return five starters, including all-league hitters Dantile Raney and Rache Harman. Emma Froese could be the next starting setter, replacing Kamryn Herron. Ashtyn Schroeder is Inman's top defender, and Lauren Maurer will control the right side of the court. Inman will have to find a new libero after the loss of Macy Dewitt.

Inman finished 22-15 last season and 6-3 in league play. The Lady Teutons may be confident this season, but it won't come easy because how tough the HOA League could be this season.

"Whatever it takes to win," Butler said. "Our league is always competitive so every game will be a battle."

The Lady Teutons will open the season at Canton-Galva High School as they will take on the Lady Eagles and Centre High School in a triangular at 4 p.m. on Sept. 3.
