Ruth Mae Gallaway, 96, Topeka, passed away Friday (Aug. 23, 2019).
Ruth was born Dec. 6, 1922 in Dickinson County, the daughter of Edward and Cora Myrtle (Day) Horner. She graduated from Junction City High School.
She was employed in food service most of her life. Ruth married Franklin Gallaway on April 8, 1947. He died Sept. 2, 1998. Survivors include children, Bonnie Hoffman, McPherson, Mary (Claude) Gillum, Ethel M. Wilson, LeRoy G. Gallaway, George D. Gallaway, all of Topeka, Charles (Laveta) Horner, Chapman; 19 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cora Brown; son, Franklin Gallaway, Jr; sister, Eva Reese; and brothers, George Horner and Ben Horner.
Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday (Aug. 30, 2019) at Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka.
