Bonniebel Katherine Redger, 89, of rural Galva, passed away Sunday (Sept.15, 2019), at the Cedars. Bonnie was born in her rural Roxbury home on Oct. 22, 1929, to William and Elizabeth (Heintz) Crane. She attended and graduated from Enterprise School in rural Roxbury, Kansas.
She was united in marriage to Milton Lee Redger on June 11, 1950, at Roxbury Methodist Church in Roxbury. The union was blessed with five children, Richard, Reynald, Rhonda, Charles, and Deanna. Bonnie accepted Jesus as her Saviour and Lord on August 4, 1970.
She worked as a homemaker, nurse’s aide, and in the food industry throughout the years. She was never afraid of work as she always was very active and was only limited by her declining health.
She was involved in several organizations, including Garden Club, Christian Women, VFW auxiliary, and her church. She always enjoyed gardening, baking, traveling, canning, sewing, crocheting, collecting glassware, china dolls, and knick-knacks, and of course a good game of checkers or dominoes to name a few.
She is survived by son, Charles and wife Robin of rural Galva; two daughters, Rhonda Redger of McPherson, and Deanna Rich and husband Ed of rural Canton; adopted daughter, Rachel Presley and husband Scott of McPherson; sisters Elva Mae Henne of Roxbury, and Bettie Gillenwater of Wichita; three granddaughters and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Bill Crane, Leslie Crane, and infant brother Royce Crane; sisters Mariam Serviss, and Nettie Macklin; and two sons, Richard Redger and Reynald Redger.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday (Sept. 17, 2019) at Valley View Cemetery, Roxbury with a meal following at Roxbury United Parish.
