Valeria A. “Val” Graber, 82, of Moundridge, passed away, Saturday (Jan. 4, 2020) at Pine Village in Moundridge. She was born September 29, 1937 in Wichita, the daughter of Bernhard F. and Alvina (Duerksen) Machgan.

Val graduated from Buhler High School. She received an Associates of Arts degree in Education from Hutchinson Community College and a B.A. Degree in Education from McPherson College. She taught 2nd and 3rd grade in Moundridge for thirty years. She was a member of Eden Mennonite Church.

Val was united in marriage to Myron “Jim” Graber on June 5, 1959 in Buhler. He preceded her in death on January 28, 2015.

Survivors include her daughters, Terri (Mike) Gehring, Moundridge., and Melanie Stucky, Newport News, Virginia.; brothers, Jerry (Karen) Machgan, Milliken, Colorado., Bernhard (Victoria) Machgan Jr., Port Angeles, Washington.; sister, Bernadine (Brian) McNichols, Lenexa; grandchildren, Chris (Jessica) Gehring, Tyler (Marissa) Gehring, Matthew (Jerry Chanthavong) Stucky, Megan (Anh Phan) Stucky and great-grandchildren, Hayden Gehring, Rhett Gehring, and Grady Gehring.

Val was also preceded in death by her parents.

Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 8, 2020), at Eden Mennonite Church Cemetery. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at Eden Mennonite Church. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 7, 2020) at Eden Mennonite Church.
