McPherson High School senior Cody Stufflebean will be the 14th Bullpup in the past 13 years to participate in the annual Kansas Shrine Bowl.

Stufflebean will represent McPherson on the West Team on July 18 at Yager Stadium on the campus of Washburn University in Topeka. The Kansas State commit helped lead the Bullpups to an 11-1 record this season in a 4A Semifinal appearances at defensive end and tight end.

“Cody is a special kid that is deserving of this honor,” head coach Jace Pavlovich said. “He will represent our school and community in a positive way in the Shrine Bowl.”

McPherson High School has had a Shrine Bowl selection for 13 straight years now, including two selections in 2017.

The streak started with Tanner Hawkinson in 2008, followed by Zach Peterson, Joel Piper, Christian Ulsaker, Jordan Hart, Collin French, Garrett Larson, Ty Hart, Jake Nikkel, Jack Reifschneider, Jared Ruth, Wyatt Seidl, and Gabe Hoover.

“We have had a great run of players the last 14 years here at McPherson,” Pavlovich said. “It is an honor to have had 13 years in a row with representation to the Shrine Bowl.”
