Marilyn Kay Spencer, 60, of McPherson passed away at 9:50 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016 while in the company of family members at her home.

Marilyn was born in Little River on March 23, 1956, a daughter of Meda Belle (Pletcher) and Floyd Folck.

Marilyn attended Washington grade school, Park School, McPherson Junior High and graduated from McPherson High School, McPherson, in 1974.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, McPherson.

Marilyn was a homemaker, and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner. She worked as a Para for USD 418 and Kids Kampus, both of McPherson.

Marilyn enjoyed life, especially spending time with family and friends, going to the lake, helping with Toys for Kids, and traveling, especially Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Marilyn K. Folck was united in marriage to Carlton G. Spencer on May 15, 1975 at The First Congregational Church, McPherson.

She is survived by her husband, Carlton Spencer, of McPherson; her daughters, Megan Spencer, of McPherson, and Alyssa Hale and her husband Andre, of Wichita; her siblings, Ronald Folck and his wife Beverly, of McPherson, Carol Martin and her husband Henry, of McPherson, Kathryn Willard and her husband Dave, of McPherson, and Lynette Minns and her husband Ron, of McPherson; her favorite grandchildren, Daysia M. Hale, Izaiah Hale, and Kingston Spencer; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Folck and Belle Jordan; and a nephew, James Willard.

The memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, McPherson, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 8, 2016 with the Rev. Darren Frazier officiating.

The final resting place will be at the McPherson Cemetery, McPherson.
