Dale K. Kohlman, 76, of Wichita and formerly of Canton, died Dec. 30, 2016 at the Robert J. Dole Veterans Administration Medical Center in Wichita. He was a retired hardware store owner and nursing home administrator.

He was born on Aug. 7, 1940 in Marion County, the son of Walter C. and Alta (Keck) Kohlman. Dale served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Wichita and the Disabled American Veterans. He was a former member of the Canton United Methodist Church, Canton Lions Club, USD 419 Board of Education and was a Boy Scout leader.

On April 24, 1960, he married Madelyn Sue Marston in Canton, and she died Jan. 30, 1994. He married Rebecca Seward Aug. 30, 1996 in Goddard and she survives.

Other survivors include sons, Jeffery (Barbara), Cottonwood Falls; Gregory (Tami), Wichita; Darrel (Paula), Seneca; and Cyle, Wichita; a step-son, Todd Schoeppel, Wichita; a step-daughter, Margo Tucker, Wichita; three brothers, Clarence and Harold, both of Texas and Larry, Wichita; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017 at the Canton Township Cemetery. A memorial has been established with the Kansas Honor Flights, in care of Olson’s Mortuary, Canton.
