Here is a sampling of social media comments about stories from across the state:
Salina Journal Facebook: Kansas Farm Bureau backs Republicans
Brooke Pickrell: FB is pro-AG. The lefts un-factual comments about AG contributing to destroying the planet is a real problem with farmers/ranchers as well as monopolizing the industry taking generational ownership out of the equation and into the hands of big AG (contrary big government is pro big business-not small/independent business).
Donna Banman: Farmers get lots of aid sometimes I wonder how that works for us taxpayers
Deb Ortiz: Wish I could drop my membership, but I'd lose my life insurance.
Julie Ann: Deb Ortiz I agree. We are in the same boat.
Pratt Tribune Facebook: Construction crew finds mammoth tusk in Pratt
Willie Johnston Jones: Not too surprised. My dad pulled up several dinosauer teeth from a sandpit in Kiowa County. I have the little ones (roughly the size of a snack size snickers) and my sister, who is a teacher has the large one that is bigger than my hand.
Rebekah Marcum: In America, if you find a possible dinosaur fossil on private land it is yours to do what you want with it.
Johnathon Weiser: Stop digging immediately and all the experts so they can do proper digging. Ya it'll extend or stop construction but the new building is as important as history
Ottawa Herald Facebook: Kansas begins new testing strategy
Leigh Kah Northcutt: I believe it is Not a LAW soooo if tagged because of being "asymptomatic" aka...No Symptoms I will refuse being tested. I do not run in and get tested
Elizabeth Holmes (Leigh Kah Northcutt): no one said you had to. Chill girlie
Cristina Larios Meharry: THANK YOU Governor! As cases rise and especially since schools are being opened, it's important to those who have contact with those asymptomatic carriers are protected. Your leadership and concern for your constitutes is appreciated from this voter at least. However, I am sure that someday, even the non-believers will give you a thank you in spite of being misinformed.
Darik Schmoe: Yes. Let’s be afraid of a virus that only kills .01% of the population. Let’s keep control of everyone’s lives. The flu kills more. Pneumonia kills more, etc. CDC has already admitted to fabricating the death count. Funny how we dropped to only 10,000 deaths by covid, but the media still tells the fake numbers. Later sheep. Baaaaaa
Roxanne Mettenburg (Darik Schmoe): I happen to look at the CDC, KDHE, Johns Hopkins and official pandemic numbers all the time. You need to update your talking points. The CDC did not drop the number of infected people to 10,000. The case fatality rate has been running around 5%. The infection fatality rate is not yet determined but looks like it is going to come in at about 0.7-1%, which is actually about 10 times higher than influenza. You are the one who needs to turn off your sources of propaganda, likely Fox and Russian internet trolls.
