The McPherson Sentinel Snack Drive for Heart to Heart Child Advocacy Center (H2HCAC) begins today, August 7.
H2HCAC provides invaluable services to our most vulnerable citizens. Trained professionals with a passion for helping children through their most trying times provide advocacy for children as well as conducting interviews. H2HCAC provides a safe space for children to tell their stories and assists those kids through the whole process, including court. The staff meet with families to explain the process and answer any questions they have. They refer clients to mental health services, assist with getting rental and food assistance, and go to court with the children. Heart to Heart provides court bags filled with items to make the child comfortable and keep them entertained while in court.
Six cases came into H2HCAC offices this last week. They expect the upward trend to continue as it has in past years when school begins for the year.
“Snacks make such a difference for the kids who visit our agency and are an item not often covered in our agency grants,” said Veronica Mosqueda, executive director of Heart to Heart Child Advocacy Center.
To provide services effectively, H2HCAC needs help obtaining the following:
• snacks of all kinds
• copy paper
• fidgets
• coloring books
• crayons
• markers
• bottled water
Donations can be dropped off at the following locations during normal business hours unless otherwise indicated.
• The McPherson Sentinel, 116 S. Main St. Monday through Friday, 2 to 4 p.m.
• Twice Told Tales, 104 S. Main St.
