It was a clean sweep for the McPherson High School volleyball team as they won their home opener against Winfield High School and Andale High School in a triangular match.

The Lady Pups put on a dominating performance in their first game after beating Winfield in two sets (25-12, 25-7). After the win, McPherson was able to take a break while the Lady Vikings faced Andale in their second match of the night.

The Lady Vikings were swept after losing to the Lady Indians in three sets (25-12, 16-25, 25-17).

The Lady Pups had a battle with the Lady Indians as the match went into three sets. McPherson took Set one 25-18, but the Andale took Set two 25-22. McPherson was able to pull through in the third set, getting the victory 25-18.

"I was extremely happy how the night went. We adjusted our line-up the day before (senior Mickey Bowers out with Mono). We ran a completely different rotation than Saturday, Casebeer moved to libero and Doile was a defensive specialist," head coach Christy Doile said. " I was proud of how they adjusted and competed. An improvement from Saturday, we got aced less and missed less serves. Set two against Andale was maybe the only time our new line-up and new responsibilities were evident. Offensively we were very efficient on the night."
Cassie Cooks led the Bullpups with 20 total kills. Freshman Rhian Swanson wasn't too far behind as she recorded 18 kills. Jaycee Burghart earned a double-double with 48 assists and 17 digs. Kallie Jost had four aces as a server. Burghart and Brette Doile also earned pairs of aces as well, and both Katie Berg and Cooks tied for two blocks apiece.

The Bullpups improved their record to 6-2 of the year. The Lady Pups will be meet Winfield again next Tuesday in their home court, along with Circle High School in another triangular match 5 p.m.
