KANSAS CITY, MO.—The Bulldogs moved to 29-1 with a three game sweep tonight on the road at Avila University. McPherson completely dominated this match, defeating the Eagles 25-14, 25-21, 25-19.
The Bulldogs used the first set to set the tone after winning 25-14. They had 10 kills and had a 0.364 attack percentage, showing their prowess. The second set was a bit closer with the Bulldogs winning 25-21. They were less successful in this set with a 0.188 hitting percentage, but the Bulldogs were still able to get the job done. McPherson was able to close out the match by winning the third set 25-19.
Lexi Kite, Riley Bradbury and Bree Wallace were all three the main catalysts for the offense. Kite tallied 11 kills, Bradbury added 8 kills, and Wallace had 7 kills of her own. These three fed off of each other and the rest of the team to deliver points for the Bulldogs. Skylar Lane was spreading the ball to all of her teammates tonight, setting them up for points as she has 18 assists by the end of the match.
Defensively, Jamie Siess was the star once again on the defensive side of the ball. She had a total of 20 digs, while Kite was second with 11. Both Rianne Richard and Lane had two aces, showing off their serving skills.
Overall, this was a big team win as the Bulldogs are nearing the end of the regular season. They hope to carry this momentum into the final regular season game as they travel to Bartlesville, Oklahoma to take on Oklahoma Wesleyan to try to finish the season 30-1. They will square off with the Eagles on Saturday at 2 p.m.
