GREAT BEND – The Little River girls basketball team found the Hilltop Hoops Classic in Great Bend a bit more challenging that they wanted as they lost for the second night in a row on Friday, losing to Larned 46-29 and giving them a fourth-place finish in the tournament.

The loss also drops their record for the season to 9-5 as they prep to begin the final stretch of the 2018-19 season on Tuesday, January 29 by hosting Herington.

On Friday the LadySkins struggled to score points and did not hit 10 points in any of the four quarters. Larned jumped out to a 14-8 lead after one quarter of action before going into the halftime break with a 10-point, 21-11 advantage. Despite Little River trying hard to hit that 10 point mark, they only managed nine points in each of the final two quarters while Larned dropped in 25 to gain the 17-point victory.

Kaylie Zimmerman was then lone LadySkin to reach double digits in scoring with 11 while Emma McBride came close with eight. Despite the loss, Little River held a 25-18 advantage in rebounds and made seven steals while on defense.
