LARNED — The Smoky Valley High School wrestling team took second place in the Central Kansas League Championship on Friday, just falling behind Pratt High School 238-119.

Leading the Vikings were Jon Burks and Ethan Wampler as both became champions in their weight class. Burks, at 220 went 4-0 and produced four pins. In the championship round, Wampler won by a 12-5 decision at 285. Chase Pywell at 160, Dax Hopp at 170 and Tanner Luttig at 182 all were placed second in their weight class. The Vikings will now focus on regionals coming up this Friday.
