BARTLESVILLE, OK—The Swedes men's golf team kicked off their spring campaign this week at the Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagle Spring Classic. Bethany finished ninth as a team with a total score of 656 throughout the two rounds.

Senior, Jordan Della Guistina led the Swedes with scores of 78 and 81. Della Guistina was followed up by sophomore, Jose Maria Cunha with rounds of 77 and 84. Rounding out the top 50 for the Swedes, was sophomore, Birgir Magnusson with scores of 85 and 82. Next for the Swedes was freshman, Joep Mokkinkwith scores of 84 and 86. Finally, the Swedes rounding things out with freshman, Brandon Garza who finished with scores of 84 and 87.

"We knew it was going to be a tough week due to the lack of practice we had leading up to this tournament because of the winter weather," Swedes head coach, Oliver Rubenstein said. "I'm hoping the guys use this as a wakeup call and we are able bounce back and put together a competitive team score next week in Conference. I have full faith in the guys being KCAC contenders."

The Swedes return to the course on Monday, Mar. 18 and Tuesday, Mar. 19 with the first leg of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships. This tournament will be at Crestview Country Club in Wichita.
