WICHITA—The Swedes golf teams were back in action at the first leg of the KCAC Championships. The Bethany men finished the tournament in fifth and the Swede women finished up in second place.
Sophomore, Savannah Pinson and junior, Allison Weiderman led the team finishing the in the top five of the tournament. Pinson earned a third place finish with her rounds of 92 and 78. Weiderman was just one stroke behind her in fourth place with her rounds of 79 and 92. Freshman, Brooke Harrison just missed a top five finish coming in at sixth with her rounds of 84 and 90. Rounding out the Swede five was sophomore, Ger'Kayla Tunley who finished 20th with her rounds of 93 and 99 and freshman, Addison Botkin, whose rounds of 106 and 107 earned her a T35 finish.
On the men's side, sophomore Jose Maria Cunha led the way with a T4 finish. He shot rounds of 78 and 75 in the tournament. A pair of Swedes finished T16; sophomore, Birgir Magnusson and senior, Jordan Della Guistina. Magnusson shot rounds of 83 and 78 while Della Guistina finished with rounds of 80 and 82. Finishing out the Swedes five were freshmen, Joep Mokkinkand Daniel Beck. Mokkink finished with rounds of 80 and 89 while Beck shot rounds of 80 and 91.
"A disappointing week to say the least," Swedes head coach, Oliver Rubenstein said. "As a team, the guys couldn't get anything going and the girls struggled too. Some individuals had solid rounds. But we need that consistently throughout the team to be competitive."

The Swedes take a week off before returning to the course on Monday, Apr. 1 for the William Woods Spring Invite. This tournament is set to take place at the Tanglewood Golf Course in Fulton, Mo.
