HILLSBORO— The Smoky Valley High School boys tennis team competed at the Hillsboro Invitational on Thursday. The Black team finished fourth with 35 points, and the Orange team finished sixth with 31 points.

Leading the Vikings were the Lucas brothers of Matt and Jake as they went undefeated in their doubles matches. Carson Byers and Cade Schneider took fifth, Garrett Kearns and Barrett Anderson were placed sixth at No.2 doubles and Brett Anderson and Jamison Satler finished seventh.

In the singles matches, Cole Brumbaugh led the Vikings with a fourth-place finish in No.1 Singles. Johann Rauchholz was placed fifth after being assigned to play in singles instead of doubles like he usually does. Adam Tillberg took fourth, and Keeton Lee took sixth in No.2 singles.

Conway Springs High School ended up winning the invitational with 59 points. Circle (47) and Sterling (44) finished behind Conway Springs.
