It was raining goals for the McPherson High School girls soccer team.

The Lady Pups took care of business on Thursday night when they shut out Rose Hill High School 10-0 at home. The Bullpups improve to 6-1 of the season, and continue to be the top of the food chain in the AVTCL D-III as they remain undefeated in the league at 3-0.

The Lady Pups were just too much to handle for the Rockets. McPherson recorded 19 shots on goal. All of the 10 goals were all from the first half. Jaycee Burghart scored the first goal to give the Bullpups a 1-0 lead. Then Hannah Hageman added two more with the assists from Anna Nason and Burghart. Claire Hedlund was the top scoring leader as she put up three more goals on the Rockets. Two of those goals were assisted by Hannah Dossett and Nason, who both tied with two assists the whole match. Kenzie Godwin, Lauren Labertew and Dossett added three more goals before the end of the first half.

The Bullpups may have slowed down afterwards, and let the reserve team tak over for the majority of the second half after a dominating performance by the starters.

Lakyn Schieferecke was not able to pick up any saves for the first time this season, but it was not needed. Bullpups' defense kept the Rockets in line, not giving the Rockets any chances to get in scoring position.

The Lady Pups will move on to take on Augusta High School next Tuesday, April 9, at 6:30 p.m.at McPherson Stadium.
