DERBY — It was a high scoring Monday in the Derby Invitational, and yet the McPherson High School golf team finished fourth out of the eight teams.

The Bullpups shot 376, falling behind Newton High School (357), Hutchinson (362) and Derby (363).

Leading the Bullpups was Hayes Schmid, who finished the day shooting 90, placing him 12th. Tyler Hoxie finished three spots behind with the score of 94.

For the rest of the Bullpups, Cooper Courtney scored 94, Neil Raymond had 98, Gus Ruddle with 101 and Jace Kinnamon with 106.

Next up for the Bullpups will be on Friday as they will be part of the 36-team Hutchinson Invitational at 8 a.m.
