GARDEN CITY— The Swedes women's golf team wrapped up their season at the second leg of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course this week. Bethany won the individual tournament with team rounds of 340 and 332, but finished conference runner-up with the scores combined with the first leg earlier in the season.
Freshman, Brooke Harrison led things for the Swedes winning the tournament with her rounds of 79 and 79. She was followed by sophomore, Savannah Pinson who tied for fifth place recording scores of 84 and 84. Junior, Allison Weiderman tied for eighth with rounds of 89 and 84 while sophomore, Ger'Kayla Tunley also tied for eighth with her scores of 88 and 85. Rounding out the Swede five was freshman, Addison Botkin who tied for 21st with her scores of 91 and 89.
As a team the Swedes bested conference champions, Oklahoma Wesleyan by two strokes, but it was not enough to overtake the Eagles from the earlier tournament.
"I'm proud of how far the girls have come this year," Swedes head coach Oliver Rubenstein said. "They've all improved night and day since the fall. Second in conference is something to be proud of and this program will only continue to grow stronger."
