Both the Smoky Valley High School baseball and softball teams ended their season on Monday in the first round of regionals.

The softball team could not overcome four errors in an 8-1 defeat to Lyons. The Vikings allowed two runs in the first and three in the second before Kira Haxton hit a solo homerun to put Smoky Valley on the board.

But Lyons tacked on a run in the fifth and two in the sixth to advance to the regional semifinals.

Claire Broxterman hit two doubles to help lead the Smoky Valley offense.

The Vikings end the season with a 9-10 record.

The Smoky Valley baseball team had even less success in its game against Rock Creek. The Vikings were no-hit in a 10-0 loss that only went four-and-a-half innings.

Rock Creek scored four in the second and six in the third which was all the offense that was needed.

Smoky Valley ends the season with a 2-15 record.
