DODGE CITY — Tyler Hoxie was the lone golfer for McPherson High School, competing in the Class 5A State Golf Tournament in Mariah Hills Golf Course on Wednesday.

This was Hoxie's second appearance at state. Despite hitting three birdies, things did not go the way as planned, and it led him finishing the tournament with an 89. He shot rounds of 44-45.

Tyler Trudo of Eisenhower High School won the individual title, beating out Gentry Scheve of Emporia High School. Both shot 4-under-par 67.

Andover Central High School took home the first-place plaque for the third-straight time with a score of 293. St. Thomas Aquinas High School took second with 297, and Kapaun Mt. Carmel High School finished third with 298.

Andover Central’s Tyler Trudo won a playoff with Emporia’s Gentry Scheve to win the state medalist championship. Both shot scorching rounds of 4-under-par 67.

The Bullpup golfers end their season taking home the AVCTL Division III championship and only losing one senior, Jace Kinnamon.
