Bullpups complete camp at Hays

HAYS—The McPherson High School football completed its three-day training at Hays earlier this week. Bullpups Head coach Jace Pavlovich still unsure in what he is getting with this new group, but he loves the progression they are making all summer.

"Our goal at these things is simple-to be the most physical team," Pavlovich said. "Execution will come over time.  I felt like we accomplished our goal.  When it came to game situations, we were unbeaten.  Now, our focus changes from development in football to getting back into the weight room and gym floor to improve athletically."

The Bullpups will take some time while they focus on the Speed, Power, Strength Program before the start of their training camp.

Thrash and Hoppes receive offers

One of the bright spots for the McPherson football team is both Mason Thrash and Kaleb Hoppes. Thrash recently was offered by McPherson College last weekend as he announced via Twitter. Thrash was one of the Bullpups tackling leaders at middle linebacker and will lead a stout defense for this coming season.

Fort Hays State University offered Hoppes after wowing the Tigers during camp. Hoppes his young brother of former Bullpup quarterback now McPherson College-bound Kyler Hoppes. He started all of last year at safety but is also one of the front-runners for the starting quarterback position for this season.

Swanson receives invite to Team USA Camp

Rhian Swanson was a freshman sensation for the McPherson High School volleyball team last year. Enough to get a ton of division-1 college looks while touring around schools for volleyball camp. She now will showcase her talents at the national scale as has been invited to Team USA Volleyball training program.

"I'm excited for Rhian to represent Kansas and Mcpherson High, not to mention the top-notch training and reps she is receiving," Bullpups Head Coach Christy Doile said about Swanson.

Swanson will report to camp in early July.
