Rhian Swanson will only be a sophomore at McPherson High School and is one of the Lady Pup's top returning players on the volleyball team. As she received plenty of interests from division-1 programs, Swanson decided to stay close to home as she announced on her Instagram account that she has verbally committed to play college volleyball at Kansas University.

"I knew I wanted to go there, so why wait?" Swanson said. "I love the coaches, and the team is great. When I went to camp, it just really felt like home. I knew right away that it is where I wanted to be."

Swanson also considered other Big 12 schools, including Kansas State University, University of Texas and Oklahoma University.

"I am humbled by the schools that showed interest in me," Swanson said. "I want to thank God, my parents, grandparents, coaches, teammates and friends for supporting me."

Last season, the Bullpups went 30-11 (10-0 in AVCTL D-III league) making it far to the Class 5A Sub-State finals.
