TEXARKANA, TX—The Swedes women's soccer team kicked off their season on the road facing the Eagles of Texas A&M University-Texarkana. Bethany was unable to come up with a win, falling to the Eagles 1-0.

TAMUT was able to sneak in an early goal, during the ninth minute when a penalty kick snuck in the bottom right corner. While the Swedes were able to put seven shots on goal, they were not able to put one past the keeper.

Eight Swedes recorded shots in the contest while six were able to put them on target. In goal, Destinee Wells, senior keeper, played the first half of the game allowing one goal while picking up three saves. Samantha Broom, freshman keeper, tallied four saves in the second half of work.

The Swedes return to the road on Tuesday, Aug. 27 traveling to Oklahoma City University. Bethany takes on the Stars at 5 p.m. in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
