MANHATTAN—The Central Christian College volleyball team left Manhattan with a 2-2 record during the Manhattan Christian College Tournament on Saturday.

The Tigers was already in a tough battle on Thursday when they faced the Thunder on Thursday. After five sets, the Tigers were victorious. On Friday, the Tigers went to another fifth set against Cottey College, but the Tigers fell short in the end. That same evening, the Tigers suffered back-to-back loss to Southwestern College in three sets after being warned out in their earlier game against Cottey College.

The Tigers were able to get a strong finish as they beat out the Ozark Christian in three sets (25-19) (29-27) (25-20). Head Coach Ryan Webb was pleased on her Tigers performance throughout the tournament all weekend.

" I think this was a great way to start the season for the Tigers," Webb said. "The girls have been practicing hard every day, and it is showing on the court. I know it can be hard learning under a new coach, but the team has really opened up and started to trust the process of our system. I am excited to see what we are fully capable of as we head into conference play".

The Tigers will host the Southwestern Assemblies of God University on Friday at 7 p.m.
