LINDSBORG—The Swedes volleyball team picked up fifth win in a row tonight defeating the visiting Bluejays form Tabor College in three sets.
Bethany started strong in the first set commanding a solid lead throughout. The Bluejays tried to make a run late in the set but it was too little, too late as the Swedes took the set 25-20. Things stayed much more even in the second set going back and forth late into the game. However, Bethany was able to make a few late-set runs to pull ahead and take care of the Bluejays 25-17. In set three, the Swedes again took an early lead and pushed that until they had a hearty advantage. Again, Tabor attempted a late-set run but the Swedes were able to once again able to pull out the win 25-17.
Jordan Valentine, sophomore middle, and Georgia Romine-Black, junior outside led the Bethany offense with 11 kills each. Paola Sanabira-Lopez, junior outside, came in just behind them with eight kills. Ivona Vojvodic, senior setter, tallied up 31 assists on the match while her and Haley Reifsteck, junior libero, each had 10 digs. Hi'ialo Apo, sophomore passer, led the Swede defense with 11 digs. As a whole, the Swedes hit .260 on the match and tallied up four blocks.

The Swedes hit the court again on Friday, Sept. 20 hosting Friends University in a non-conference contest. First serve is set for 7 p.m. inside Hahn Gymnasium.
