Little River dominates Ellsworth

LITTLE RIVER—The Little River High School volleyball team needed three wins in the best-of-five series at Ellsworth High School, and that's how it went. The Redskins swept the Bearcats 25-23, 25-22, 25-21.

"Little River played a solid night of volleyball," coach Kim Rolfs said. "The kids responded well at times to the adjustments made against a tough Ellsworth hitter. Our kids are really playing well during moments and working in practice to better themselves on our weaknesses, which is just making us a better team right now."

Next up for the Redskins, they will host a quad with Peabody Canton-Galva and Solomon on Tuesday at 4 p.m.

Smoky Valley struggles at Ellinwood

ELLINWOOD— It was a rough night for the Smoky Valley High School volleyball team as it went 0-2 during a triangular at Ellinwood on Thursday.

The Lady Vikings fall to Ellinwood in three sets (25-21, 14-25, 20-25), and later drop to Great Bend High School in two (18-25, 24-26).

"Was a tough night for the varsity team," Vikings Head coach Sharlene Ramsey said. "We pushed Ellinwood to three sets but played a little slow. We battled well with a good Great Bend, but it just wasn't our night. We will need to bounce back and be ready to play Tuesday night."
