LINDSBORG — The No. 1 doubles team of Rachel Yenni and Karik Elliott went 4-0 on Saturday to capture the Smoky Valley Invitational.
Yenni and Elliott won their matches by scores of 8-6, 8-0, 8-3 and 8-5.
As a team, the Vikings tied with Sterling for first place with 30 points each. Buhler finished with 27, while Marysville (7) and Pratt (6) were also in attendance.
Of the four divisions, Smoky Valley finished first, second, second, and third. At No. 2 doubles, Emily Jones and Elaina McMillen went 3-1. The duo lost their first match to Sterling, 8-4, but rebounded by winning three straight matches.
At No. 2 singles, Isabella Wright began the day 3-0, but fell to Buhler’s Rylie Pederson 8-6 in the championship.
Rounding out the Smoky Valley lineup was Lena Rauhholz at No. 1 singles. Rauhholz went 2-2 on the day, defeating Pratt and Marysville, and dropping a pair of highly competitive matches to Buhler and Sterling.
The Vikings are back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Hesston.
