The McPherson College volleyball team lost a match to the Tabor College Bluejays Wednesday night at home in the Sport Center. The loss brings their record on the year to 8-7, 1-1 in KCAC play. The Bulldogs won the first two sets before being swept in the remaining three, 25-13, 25-11, 15-25, 19-25, 13-15.
The Bulldogs began the game hitting on all cylinders, making quick work of the Blue Jays in the first two sets. Dominant service and a surplus of kills were the initial hallmarks of the match for the Bulldogs. However, halfway through the third set the tide turned and the Bluejays dominated for the remainder of the match. The fifth set was hotly contested, and the Bulldogs made the Bluejays earn every point down the stretch.
Maddy Woog had an error free hitting performance, with a kill percentage of .625, to go along with two blocks. Skylar Lane led the team with 26 assists.
The Bulldogs will face Southwestern College next on Oct. 1 at 7 p.m.
