YORK, Neb. – The Swedes women's soccer team started to get back on track today as they picked up their first conference win of the season at York. Bethany defeated the Panthers 3-0.

Bethany's offense was able to utilize their shots in the first half, finally netting one in the 35th minute when Juliana Lopez, freshman forward, was able to put one past the Panther defense and into the goal. Despite York taking more shots than the Swedes in the first half, the Bethany defense as a whole was able to hold the off and keep a 1-0 lead going into the break.

In the second half, the Swedes were able to quickly grow their lead first with a goal by Dominique Plamer, junior midfielder, assisted by Peale Navarro, sophomore defender, then Lopez netted her second goal of the day to give Bethany a hearty 3-0 lead. Once again, the Bethany defense is not to be forgotten as those held off the Panthers to post their third shutout of the season.

As a whole, the took 15 shots, nine of which were on target while Destinee Wells, senior keeper, led the Swedes defense in the goal.  Bethany defended off 11 Panther shots, with Wells collecting five saves in the contest.
