CLAFLIN –The Smoky Valley High School volleyball team remains on a hot streak after winning another sweep on Thursday. The Lady Vikings were at Central Plains High School, where they swept

the Oilers (25-17, 25-17) and Ellsworth High School (25-14, 25-18). After Thursday's win, the Vikings have won eight straight matches and improve to 19-9.

"It's been awesome watching this team mature into a more confident group of players," Smoky Valley Head coach Sharlene Ramsey said. "With each win, you can see their confidence improve as they are really starting to believe they deserve to be the winner at the end of the night. I told them tonight that the amount of growth in their mental toughness since the beginning of the season has just been so incredible to observe and be a part of."

In their win against Central Plains, McKinley Johnson led with 11 assists, and Elyse Ramsey was second with nine. Abby Rose was the kills leader with 11.

The serving has continued to be the focal point for the Vikings after reaching a 93 percentile. Johnson went 15 of 15 in her serves. Bri Franklin was 12 of 12, and Ramsey was 7 of 7.

Johnson added 11 more assists against Ellsworth and was also 13 of 13 in in her serving. Rose and Franklin tied with five kills. Rose was 13 of 13 in her serves, while Franklin and Ramsey were 5 of 5. Addie Heitschmidt was 7 of 8.

The Vikings will be at Pratt for Triangular on Tuesday. Hesston High School, CKL leader, will also be included.
